About Diane
Diane Lynn was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She has always had a love for singing and was introduced to Barbra‘s music at a very young age. Her sister Barbie saw Funny Girl on Broadway and was obsessed with Barbra‘s beautiful voice. She played her music constantly. This is where it all began for Diane. During her high school days, she played leading roles in Grease and The Music Man. She was also a lead soloist in her high school chorus. Throughout college, she performed in community theatre groups with various roles in Annie, Babes In Arms, and West Side Story.
After starting a family, Diane moved to Weston, Florida where she currently resides. She continued her career as a physical therapist, which put her singing aspirations on hold. During COVID she started singing Barbra songs on an app called Smule. After opening a few songs, she immediately gained lots of fans and followers. Most of the comments were "Wow! I feel like I’m singing with Barbra.” Her voice emulated Streisand's and she was nicknamed Babs! Diane realized that the time was right to hit the stage and fulfill her long awaited dreams.
In recent years, she has performed at The Palace at Kings Point in Tamarac, Ponte Vecchio West in Boynton, The Palace at Weston, as well as opening acts at Boca Black Box and Sunrise Lakes. She also performed as a choir member and soloist with the world traveled Nova singers. For over 25 years, Diane has performed with her Temple B'nai Aviv choir, often singing solos and duets with her Cantor and fellow choir mates. Congregants would often approach her after services and say how much her voice moved them to tears.
Diane continues to study voice with her amazing Vocal Coach, Lili Sanchez, at Vocal Roads in Weston. With the love and support of her husband, Ralph, and three kids, Gabrielle, Courtney and Matthew, Diane is on her way to fulfill her singing career. Someday she hopes to meet her idol Barbra!! The best is yet to come!
